Broadcasting Spring 2027! Anime "Kindergarten WARS" Casts Hitomi Ohwada, Satoshi Hino, and Mariya Ise; Surprise Appearance at AJ Stage [Event Report]

"Kindergarten WARS," the hit violence-action rom-com serialized on "Shonen Jump+" with over 2 million copies in circulation, is officially getting a TV anime adaptation scheduled to broadcast in Spring 2027.

On Sunday, March 29, a special stage for the series was held at the WHITE Stage of "AnimeJapan 2026" at Tokyo Big Sight. Alongside Atsumi Tanezaki (Rita) and Kentaro Kumagai (Doug), three new cast members made a surprise appearance, sending the audience into a frenzy.

Tanezaki and Kumagai took the stage to roaring cheers. Tanezaki greeted everyone with a spirited "Good morning!"—projecting her voice without a microphone—while Kumagai responded with a subtle greeting, their chemistry immediately drawing laughs from the crowd.

Soon after the greetings, the casting for Hana, Luke, and Silvia was announced, and their character visuals were unveiled on the monitors for the first time. The excitement peaked when Hitomi Ohwada (Hana), Satoshi Hino (Luke), and Mariya Ise (Silvia) appeared as secret guests. They too greeted the crowd with their raw voices, making the event a massive success.

Kumagai described Doug’s charm as being "a con artist, yet sincere and kind at heart," noting the gap of being categorized as a "hottie" by Rita.
