The gap between the small, cute characters and the harsh world has gained wide popularity among both adults and children, and the number of followers has exceeded 4.62 million to date.
The anime "Chiikawa" is currently airing every Tuesday and Thursday around 7:36 AM within Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV." Additionally, "Chiikawa The Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island," the first theatrical film for "Chiikawa," is scheduled to be released on July 24, 2026.
