A new photo featuring a humorous interaction between manga artist Gosho Aoyama and a Frieren plushie has been released on the official Frieren: Beyond Journey's End X (formerly Twitter) account, becoming a hot topic among fans. The rare sight of a legendary author, who serializes in the same magazine, appearing repeatedly on the official account has sparked surprise and delight across social media.
The account posted a single image with the short text, "Peek-a-Frieren" (Hyokkori-ren). This follows a previous photo uploaded on April 10 titled "Gosho’s Frieren," making this the latest installment in the series.
The released image shows Mr. Aoyama, dressed in a black knit cap and a black zip-up jacket, looking down to his right. From behind his right arm, a Frieren plushie is peeking out, revealing about half of its face. In the background, bookshelves filled with a massive collection of manga volumes tower nearly to the ceiling. The humorous composition makes it look as if the plushie is hiding and watching its surroundings of its own volition.
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is an anime series based on the hit manga by Kanehito Yamada (story) and Tsukasa Abe (art). It depicts the journey of the mage Frieren, who defeated the Demon King, as she sets out on a new quest to learn about humanity following the death of her former comrade, the Hero Himmel. Meanwhile, Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan is a world-renowned mystery series about a high school detective, Shinichi Kudo, who was turned into a child by the Black Organization and solves numerous difficult cases as Conan Edogawa. The latest film in the franchise, Detective Conan: The Fallen Angel of the Highway, has been in theaters nationwide since Friday, April 10.
In response to this post, fans have shared reactions filled with surprise and warm laughter, such as: "Gosho-sensei is becoming a semi-regular lol," "It's so cute to see Sensei being played with by Frieren," "Is an incident about to happen? Is it safe?" and "I bet there are still more photos in stock, my expectations are high!"
