Animation studio ufotable's official X account has published the cover of a script that was actually used for voice recording of the anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," and the high-quality illustration is generating buzz.
The image was posted along with a message of gratitude for the broadcast of Episode 2, "Cultivator Sakonji Urokodaki," from the "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which is currently being rebroadcast in its entirety on television. The post states, "Here is an introduction to the script cover actually used for voice recording. We look forward to your continued support next week as well."
The image features the script cover for Episode 2 along with the title logo. The cover depicts Tanjiro Kamado (CV: Natsuki Hanae) looking ahead despite being battered and bruised, with Sakonji Urokodaki (CV: Hochu Otsuka) standing behind him wearing a tengu mask, all rendered in monochrome with meticulous detail. The rough yet powerful strokes, reminiscent of pencil drawings, vividly convey the tension of the story.
The anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is a dark fantasy work based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge. Set in Japan during the Taisho era, it depicts the protagonist Tanjiro, whose family was killed by demons, as he joins the Demon Slayer Corps, an organization that slays demons, in order to turn his younger sister Nezuko Kamado (CV: Akari Kito), the sole survivor who has been transformed into a demon, back into a human, and throws himself into harsh battles. The animation production is handled by ufotable, and it recorded a massive hit that could be called a social phenomenon with its beautiful visual expression and dynamic battle scenes.
In response to this post, fans praised the quality of the illustration with comments such as "The cover is too good..." and "Tanjiro standing up all battered looks so cool." There were also many comments eagerly requesting merchandise, such as "Please release a script illustration collection" and "I want them to restock it." In the past, script notebooks modeled after these scripts were sold as merchandise, but currently the script notebooks for the Unwavering Resolve Arc are not being sold.
