Voice actor Kappei Yamaguchi updated his official X account and shared an illustration he drew in his planner. The exceptional quality of the drawing and the fact that he uses a "Hobonichi Techo" planner have caused a stir among fans and become a major topic of conversation.
In his post, Yamaguchi expressed his congratulations and gratitude for the strong start of the theatrical film 'Detective Conan: Highway no Datenshi', revealing his excitement about going to the theater himself with comments like "I need to go see it soon too" and "Alright, let's depart with energy today too~"
In the published image, Shinichi Kudo (CV: Kappei Yamaguchi) from 'Detective Conan' is drawn across the entire planner page. The suit is filled in with fine diagonal lines using a blue pen, while the outline and facial expressions are vividly rendered with a black pen. The planner shows the date of April 11th, with a message reading "The theatrical film Detective Conan: Highway no Datenshi has begun!! Congratulations on breaking through 1.1 billion yen at the start!!" accompanied by Kudo giving a thumbs-up pose. From the planner's layout, it can be inferred that it is a 'ONE PIECE' collaboration model of the "Hobonichi Techo."
The theatrical film 'Detective Conan: Highway no Datenshi', released on April 10, 2026, is the 29th animated film in the theatrical series. It is directed by Takahiro Hasui and written by Takahiro Okura. In this film, Chihaya Hagiwara (CV: Miyuki Sawashiro), a Kanagawa Prefectural Police motorcycle officer known as the "Goddess of the Wind," makes her theatrical debut and engages in intense motorcycle action alongside Conan Edogawa (CV: Minami Takayama) and others against the mysterious runaway black motorcycle "Lucifer." The film recorded a box office revenue of 1.13 billion yen on its opening day, achieving a massive hit start with the series' highest opening performance.
In response to this post, fans flooded in with comments of surprise and praise such as "Someday we might see 'Key Animation: Kappei Yamaguchi,'" "I thought it was an illustration by Aoyama-sensei," and "A Hobonichi Techo...!" Additionally, reports came in from fans who had already visited the theater, with comments like "I went and caught the feathers with my kids." This phrase "catching feathers (batoru)" is a fan catchphrase referring to having watched the film, coined by Takayama at the "Just Before Release! Kaze no SP Fan Meeting" held on April 4th.
