"SHIBUYA ANIME BASE (#ShibuAni)" #83 was broadcast live on ABEMA on Friday, April 24, from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This episode welcomed voice actors Daisuke Namikawa and Tomoyo Kurosawa as guests, who shared plenty of information about new spring anime and behind-the-scenes production stories.
The first half of the program featured a special segment on Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 1, which opened in theaters on Friday, April 24. Since 2015, this series—spanning five movies and 39 anime episodes—has depicted the lives of high school students dedicating their youth to brass band music in Uji City, Kyoto. Kurosawa, who plays the protagonist Kumiko Oumae, reflected on the recording process for the series that has continued for 10 years. She revealed that Sound Director Tsuruoka prioritizes a "documentary" feel, describing the meticulous approach to creating raw, realistic performances through the actors' own bodies.

Regarding this latest film, she highlighted the "SunFes" marching scene, saying, "The SunFes costumes are so cute. When people think of KyoAni, they think of that fluttering of the skirts. I really want everyone to see it." She added enthusiastically, "The way the new shots are integrated this time is so stylish, so don't miss it!" Furthermore, in the "Review of the Week" corner—where the "X" editorial team selects and introduces impressive posts about anime—passionate fan comments were shared, such as "I was bawling within the first minute" and "A round of applause and gratitude broke out after the screening." Kurosawa touched upon the fact that about five years have passed since the previous theatrical release, noting that more than half of the attendees at events are new fans who discovered the work during that time. "It makes me so happy to know many people are experiencing this in real-time for the first time," she said, savoring the moment.
