"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime series based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. Maomao's detective work as a "poison tester" in the rear palace and the comical interactions between her and Jinshi became popular and a major topic of conversation. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and it has been announced that the third season will air in two split cours starting from October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
