While it's a warrior's duty to protect mages even at the cost of their own body, is this a bit too much to handle!? In the second season of the anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," there is a scene where Stark (CV: Chiaki Kobayashi) encounters a truly pitiable situation.

The anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," currently available for streaming, is based on the manga of the same name by writer Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday." Set in a world "after" the Demon King has been defeated, it tells the story of an elven mage, Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki), who has lived for over 1,000 years, as she embarks on a "journey to understand people."

The original manga, which has surpassed 35 million copies in circulation, has won numerous awards, including the "Manga Taisho 2021," the "25th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize" New Creator Prize, the "69th (2023) Shogakukan Manga Award," and the "48th Kodansha Manga Award" in the Shonen category. The first season of the TV anime aired starting in September 2023, followed by the second season in January 2026. It has also been announced that the third season, "Golden Land Arc," will begin broadcasting in October 2027.

Episode 29, the premiere of the second season, begins with Frieren’s party traveling through the Northern Lands. As they walk while chatting, Frieren notices something, saying, "Oh, wait a second. Could it be that this ground..."

The next moment, the surface collapses, and the three are thrown into a hollow cavity that had opened up beneath them. It seemed for a moment that they had escaped danger using the flight magic of Frieren and Fern (CV: Kana Ichinose), but then Frieren mutters, "Oh... I might have messed up." For some reason, their magic stops working, and everyone falls toward the bottom of the cavern.
