"The Irregular at Magic High School" series has expanded through TV anime, movies, and prequel arcs since its first season aired in 2014. On May 8, the latest installment and feature film, "The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE - Yotsuba Succession Arc -," is set to be released.

Throughout the series, the younger sister, Miyuki Shiba, has consistently adored her elder brother, Tatsuya Shiba, to the point where those around them often mistake them for a couple. The way she devotedly calls him "Onii-sama" has become an iconic element of the "Mahouka" series. This film is an animation of the "Yotsuba Succession Arc" from the 16th volume of the original light novel, and the core of the story revolves around the secrets of these two siblings.

The story of the "Yotsuba Succession Arc" begins when Miyuki receives an invitation to the "Keishunkai," a New Year's Day gathering at the Yotsuba main residence where the next head of the Yotsuba family is to be named. True to the film's catchphrase, "The truth of the 'strongest' is revealed at last," a profound story unfolds as the secrets of Tatsuya and Miyuki are brought to light. In an interview with Saori Hayami, who plays Miyuki, she discussed the highlights of the film.

"This is a story that clearly depicts the manifestation of the feelings Miyuki has long held deep inside," Hayami says. "She has lived her life with Onii-sama as her center, struggling with conflicts that eventually grew too large for her to contain... I believe this story carefully portrays Miyuki's emotional state."

As Hayami mentions, Miyuki's character as someone who deeply adores Tatsuya has been a focal point throughout the "Mahouka" series. In the first teaser released on December 27, 2025, fans could catch a glimpse of a scene where Miyuki faces her own reflection in a mirror.
