The official X account of Yuji Iwasaki, the artist for "Jujutsu Kaisen ≡ (Modulo)," has released a newly drawn illustration along with a message celebrating the manga's release, sparking a massive reaction among fans.
According to the post, Iwasaki revealed it was an extra piece to make up for characters he had previously missed: "Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3 is on sale today! I realized I forgot to draw Yūka and Cross in the countdown illustrations (sweat)... so here’s an additional piece!"
The released image features Dabula positioned in the center. To the left is Cross, depicted with white hair and downcast eyes, while a large profile of the red-haired Yūka Okkotsu is drawn on the right. Below them, Maruru wielding a sword and Tsurugi Okkotsu with a katana are positioned back-to-back in dynamic poses. The entire composition is tied together with a striking green and red color palette.
"Jujutsu Kaisen ≡" is a spin-off of the "Jujutsu Kaisen" series serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, written by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki. Set on Earth in the year 2086—68 years after the "Culling Game" of the main story—the plot unfolds following the arrival of extraterrestrial beings known as Simurians. The story follows the siblings Tsurugi and Yūka Okkotsu, jujutsu sorcerers and grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu (CV: Megumi Ogata) and Maki Zen'in (CV: Mikako Komatsu), as well as Maruru (who supports Tsurugi), the antagonistic Simurian Dabula, and the key figure Cross, as they face new threats and navigate the coexistence and conflict between different cultures.
In response to this post, SNS was flooded with admiration for the stunning artwork and the author's dedication to the fans, with comments such as "This is literal art," "He's being way too generous with the fan service," and "I want to turn this into a T-shirt so badly."
