——Could you also tell us how you first discovered "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End"?
Babu-chan: Around 2020, while series filled with battles and sadness were trending, my hairstylist recommended it to me, saying there was a work that would cleanse my soul (lol). I burst into tears from the very first volume and was instantly hooked.
——Is your favorite character Frieren, after all?
Babu-chan: Frieren is exactly my type of character—light-colored hair in twintails, looking young yet mature, a bit aloof, and above all, incredibly strong! She is the ideal strong and cute older-sister figure that I aspire to be in my own life, and I love her so much.
I also love Himmel, who is a handsome narcissist yet filled with love, and just like in the story, I’m pretty sure all of humanity loves him! I looked forward to every single episode of the anime. Feeling the characters truly come alive through the unique visuals and expressions of animation made me love the series even more.
——Lastly, is there any cosplay you would like to try in the future?
Babu-chan: Up until now, I had only done cosplay at home, but I finally participated in an actual event for the first time at last year's Winter Comiket! I discovered how incredibly fun it is to share my passion in a place where so many people who love anime and manga gather. From now on, I want to participate in various cosplay events, mainly in the Kanto region.
Cosplay is wonderful because it allows you to immerse yourself in your favorite series and fulfill the dream of becoming that character in this lifetime. I'm nobody special, but I'd be happy if everyone could watch over me warmly and be friends with me! ☆彡
Since I'm a "Heisei-era otaku," I want to gradually enjoy older titles and "Weekly Shonen Jump" series. In the immediate future, I'm preparing to cosplay Ryoma Echizen from "The Prince of Tennis" together with my sibling! For the next Winter Comiket, I want to goof around a bit (lol), so I'm definitely going to be a robot maid!
