During the program, the new segment "Veteran Voice Actors' First Time Doing **!" was introduced. This segment challenges the two to do things they have "never experienced before," despite Namikawa's career spanning over 40 years and Shimono's 25 years in the industry.
Reflecting on their past "first-time" stories, Namikawa shared a memory of "racing against a horse" on a previous episode of Yo Asobi. He revealed how seriously he took it, saying, "I practiced while visualizing running alongside a horse," and "I even bought cleats just for that project," cracking Shimono up. Meanwhile, Shimono shared a prank story where he was "kicked by a monkey" while singing. When he recounted instinctively asking the monkey, "Who are you?", Namikawa, who had watched that broadcast, highly praised it, saying, "That was the absolute best reaction!" The studio was filled with laughter over these extraordinary anecdotes that only veteran voice actors could provide.
The challenge the two took on this time was "making knife-shaved noodles." When the staff expected them to start right after just watching a demonstration video by a master, Shimono shot back, "There's no way we can do it just from a video!" Namikawa also showed a faint heart early on, saying, "I don't feel like I can do this at all."
Once the challenge actually began, they struggled severely, with the noodles snapping halfway through or turning out extremely thick. Namikawa poked fun at Shimono's noodles, calling them "like burdock root!" During Namikawa's subsequent turn, he showed his impatient side, admitting, "I'm getting a little frustrated now." Unable to grasp the knack of it, Namikawa wore a bitter smile, saying, "I didn't realize I was this clumsy."
Furthermore, when a "gadget to easily make noodles" was introduced midway through, Shimono was bewildered, saying, "What was the point of everything we just went through?!" After their hard work, they finally tasted the completed knife-shaved noodles, looking fully satisfied and exclaiming, "Delicious!" However, due to the noodles being cut too short, they were defeated by the fact that "We can't slurp them!", triggering another wave of laughter.
"I Want to Go on a Location Shoot!" What Kind of Projects Do Daisuke Namikawa & Hiro Shimono Want to Do?
In the latter half of the show, a segment titled "Keyword Project Talk" was held, where they thought up future projects based on specific keywords.
On the topic of "Gourmet," Shimono proposed a cooking project with Namikawa, who rarely cooks at home, saying, "I don't really picture Namikawa-san cooking." Namikawa confidently shot back, "I can totally handle the chopping part!" When the topic turned to "Location Shoots," Shimono expressed his strong desire, saying, "I want to go on a location shoot with Namikawa-san!" This led to a flurry of ideas, such as a "casual drinking bar crawl shoot" and a "visiting hard-to-enter shops shoot."
Moreover, ideas like a "horror game gameplay project" and a "talk show project with absolute rookie voice actors" popped up, getting Namikawa super excited as he said, "We could easily stretch this out for about half a year, couldn't we?" At the end, Shimono strongly pushed for the location shoot, concluding, "The bottom line is, a location shoot is what we want to do the most." Namikawa agreed, saying, "A casual drinking shoot sounds great!" expressing high hopes for the future.
