"The Apothecary Diaries" Light Novel Exhibition Tie-in Bookstore Fair Begins May 22! Novelty Items Include Limited-Edition Paper-Cutout-Style Cards of Maomao and Jinshi

A bookstore fair tied in with "The Apothecary Diaries Light Novel Exhibition: Poisons, Medicines, Science, and Mystery" will be held starting May 22.

"The Apothecary Diaries" light novel is a mystery entertainment work by Hyuganatsu. Set in the inner palace of a certain Chinese-style empire, it depicts Maomao, an apothecary girl who was kidnapped and sold as a servant, as she solves various incidents and troubles within the inner palace using her inherent pharmaceutical knowledge and deep insight. Her cleverness catches the eye of Jinshi, a beautiful eunuch, and this mega-hit work eventually sees her selected as a poison tester directly serving a high-ranking consort.

This fair will be held from May 22 at 47 bookstores, mainly in and around the Tokyo metropolitan area. Please note that the start date and duration of the fair may vary depending on the store.

Eligible products are volumes 1 to 16 of "The Apothecary Diaries," written by Hyuganatsu, illustrated by Touko Shino, published by Imagica Infos, and distributed by Shufunotomo. For each eligible book purchased at participating bookstores, one limited-edition "paper-cutout-style card" will be given as a novelty item at random. The cards feature illustrations from the original light novels, with a total of two designs available: "Maomao" and "Jinshi." The offer will end at each store as soon as stock runs out.
