2nd Cast Members: Ami Koshimizu, Hiro Shimono, Daisuke Namikawa, Kenji Nojima

As part of the 2nd cast and character announcement, Kenji Nojima will play Jochi (the first prince of the Mongol Empire's Emperor Genghis Khan), Daisuke Namikawa will play Chagatai (the second prince), and Hiro Shimono will play Ögedei (the third prince), each taking on these princes full of personality. Töregene, the sixth wife of Ögedei who harbors a deep hatred for Mongolia in her heart and views her husband as an enemy due to her past, will be played by Ami Koshimizu.

Comment from Ami Koshimizu (voicing Töregene)

Although this work is based on historical facts from Mongolia's long history, it is depicted in a very accessible and easy-to-understand manner thanks to the lovely art style. Despite the limited historical materials, the thoughts and emotions of the characters come through vividly. Furthermore, there are thrilling scenes, such as the psychological battles in their conversations.

For me personally, in playing the role of Töregene, I put my heart into expressing her not as a simple witch, but as a human being who hides her own vulnerability. I hope everyone who watches it will enjoy it.

Comment from Hiro Shimono (voicing Ögedei)

“Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia” is a work dealing with the Mongol Empire—a subject I personally haven't encountered much before. Centering on the protagonist Shitara, who has been stripped of everything precious to her and resolves to take revenge on the Mongol Empire, it is a story that depicts Mongolian life, customs, power dynamics, and human relationships within the royal family!!

Among them, I have the privilege of playing Ögedei, the third son of Genghis Khan, who later becomes the second emperor of the Mongol Empire! Ögedei is a fun-loving, carefree, and somewhat whimsical character who loves drinking, but there seems to be another side to him as well, and I personally had a lot of fun playing him!!

Not only Ögedei, but “Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia” features many fascinating characters starting with Shitara! Please enjoy the wonderful visuals and music, and immerse yourself in that world!!

Comment from Daisuke Namikawa (voicing Chagatai)

This work minutely depicts cultures and customs that are hard to come across otherwise. While it includes the sharp perspective of human manipulation and conflict, I think it’s easy to watch because of the gentle art style. I heard that the staff actually visited the location to soak in the atmosphere. This is a work where you can experience the ambiance of that era and region through the music as well. I hope you thoroughly enjoy this anime filled with exotic flavors.

Comment from Kenji Nojima (voicing Jochi)

The harsh swell of the era in the 13th-century Mongol Empire, yet what catches the eye is a delicate and lovely worldview like a picture book. The story relentlessly confronts us with a cruel and harsh reality, where intellect is trampled by military force and power. That gap. Precisely because of the art style that can be taken as cute, the raw brilliance of life seemed to stand out vividly.

Please look forward to the broadcast in July 2026. Please throw yourself into this historical swell along with us.
