10th Anniversary Visual Unveiled for Yuri!!! on ICE! Large-Scale Exhibition Confirmed for This Winter

Yuri!!! on ICE, a full-scale men's figure skating animation produced by MAPPA, which was originally conceived by Mitsurou Kubo and director Sayo Yamamoto and broadcast on TV Asahi and other stations from October to December 2016, has announced new information to commemorate its 10th anniversary.

This work garnered huge buzz for its pursuit of realistic skating depictions, with Kenji Miyamoto—who has worked on programs for numerous skaters as a choreographer—handling the choreography for all the skaters. While anchoring the narrative around the revival of Yuri Katsuki, the story is set during the Grand Prix Series, where skaters express their lives on the ice. The series captured their deeply felt performances from angles and with dynamic visuals not seen in actual competitions, delivering a massive emotional impact to people around the world through the unique charm of figure skating that only animation could achieve.

10th Anniversary Visual Unveiled, Newly Drawn by Character Designer Tadashi Hiramatsu

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the broadcast, an anniversary visual newly drawn by character designer Tadashi Hiramatsu has been released. In addition to the protagonist Yuri Katsuki, Yuri Plisetsky, Otabek Altin, Christophe Giacometti, Jean-Jacques Leroy, and Phichit Chulanont—the six skaters who competed in the Grand Prix Final in the main TV anime series—the visual depicts Victor Nikiforov, Yuri's coach and a five-time consecutive World Champion.

Set during the Grand Prix Final free skate, the visual captures the decisive moments when each skater's emotions—such as self-reflection, burning rivalry against competitors, and conveying love—fill their bodies and manifest in their expressions and movements. It is a single piece where one can vividly feel the brilliance on the ice, infused with the very lives of the skaters.
