The teaser trailer for "WASTED CHEF," the first original feature-length animation project by director Takayuki Hirao, known for "Pompo the Cinéphile" and other works, has been released. Along with this, it has also been confirmed that a manga adaptation will be serialized in KADOKAWA's "Young Ace."

This work is an entertainment piece combining cooking and sci-fi, with director Takayuki Hirao serving as director, original creator, and screenwriter. Through the coming-of-age drama of a young chef and a thrilling adventure story set in a mysterious world where taste has been lost, the theme of "What is value?" is explored. Furthermore, this work has also been selected for the "Annecy Animation Showcase" at the 79th Cannes Film Festival.

In the released teaser trailer, vivid culinary animations are depicted, including the appearances of a boy and a girl who hold the key to the story, a thick patty grilled on a hot plate, and a hamburger with fresh vegetables. On the other hand, the end of the video shows a mysterious world covered in dark clouds, hinting at a sci-fi development along with the ominous tagline, "That day, 'you' and 'taste' vanished from the world."

In addition, the manga adaptation serialization of this work will start from the July issue of "Young Ace," on sale June 4th. The art will be handled by Aero05.
