Daiki Yamashita Cries Out a Heartfelt "SMASH!!" "My Hero Academia" 10th Anniversary Concert Official Report from the Yokohama Performance Has Arrived

The project celebrating the 10th anniversary of the anime My Hero Academia, titled [My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary], is currently underway. As one of its initiatives, "My Hero Academia IN CONCERT" was held at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall on May 30, and an official report has arrived.

My Hero Academia, commonly known as "MHA," is a highly popular comic by Kohei Horikoshi that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha) for ten years. With over 100 million copies in circulation worldwide, the series is a hero action manga set in a world where supernatural abilities called "Quirks" are the norm. It follows the story of the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, commonly known as "Deku," as he grows alongside his classmates at U.A. High School—a prestigious academy for nurturing heroes—aiming to become a "Hero" who protects society and stands up against "Villains" who abuse their Quirks. The TV anime series based on the manga also reached its conclusion last December with the final episode of the FINAL SEASON, wrapping up an epic series that spanned a total of eight seasons and 170 episodes.

At the recently held "My Hero Academia IN CONCERT," Yuki Hayashi, the composer behind the background music (BGM) for the MHA anime, served as the bandmaster. Together with the "SPECIAL ORCHESTRA BAND: THE HEROES," they performed numerous iconic tracks from the anime while memorable scenes were projected onto a massive screen. Furthermore, a luxurious production unfolded, incorporating live voice acting of famous scenes by three voice actors: Daiki Yamashita (voice of Izuku Midoriya), Nobuhiko Okamoto (voice of Katsuki Bakugo), and Yuki Kaji (voice of Shoto Todoroki). Across two performances (day and night), a total of approximately 8,000 attendees were completely captivated.
