A Concert Report Tracing the Story of "MHA" from Its Very Beginning

The concert was structured to trace the trajectory of the MHA story, with Part 1 covering Season 1 through Season 4, and Part 2 covering Season 5 through the FINAL SEASON (Season 8). The event kicked off with "You Can Be a Hero," synchronized with the scene from Season 1 where Deku meets All Might, the "Symbol of Peace."

As the music began to play, Daiki Yamashita appeared on stage to deliver the live performance of a pivotal question in the story: "Can someone without a Quirk become a hero?" Instantly, the venue was drawn into the world of MHA. The second track was none other than "You Say Run"! As the audience expressed surprise at the sudden early appearance of this iconic theme song, which serves as the face of MHA's soundtrack, Daiki Yamashita and Nobuhiko Okamoto performed live voice acting for one of the most prominent scenes in the series—where a "Quirkless" Deku rushes out to save Bakugo from being captured by the Sludge Villain. The powerful performance of "You Say Run," gaining momentum by the second, combined with the passionate acting of the two voice actors, sent the excitement in the audience soaring.

From there, the journey continued through Deku and All Might's training, the U.A. High School entrance exam, and the post-enrollment clash between Deku and Bakugo. As the concert transitioned into the attack scene by Tomura Shigaraki and the League of Villains to the tune of "Bousou Suru Akui," Yuki Kaji took the stage. He delivered Shoto Todoroki's chilling lines as he swept away the villains in a single stroke. The concert then moved into Season 2's U.A. Sports Festival segment. Following "Baku Satsuo!!" during the Cavalry Battle, and "Chyokushi Dekinai Urarakasa" matching Ochaco Uraraka after the Bakugo vs. Ochaco Uraraka match, Daiki Yamashita and Yuki Kaji returned to the stage as "Kimini no Chikara" began to play for Deku and Shoto's first major showdown. Todoroki unleashed the blazing powers he had locked away, delivering the iconic line, "I want to be a hero, too...!" This crucial milestone for Todoroki unfolded beautifully alongside the band's live performance.

The start of Season 3 focused on the Forest Training Camp Arc and the Kamino Incident Arc. For the scene where Deku engages in a life-or-death battle against the villain Muscular to save a young boy named Kota, the track "Written as 'Rival', Read as 'Friend'" was performed. This was followed by "The Power of All For One," a track radiating the sheer dread of the "Demon King" All For One, and then "Trinity." During the scene where Deku, Todoroki, Eijiro Kirishima, and others rescue Bakugo from the villains, the band and all three cast members gathered together on stage for the first time in this performance.

The band, the cast, and the visuals delivered a performance that was literally a "trinity." After the final showdown between All Might and All For One was depicted through the performance of "All Might with U.A. Students," the concert moved into "Katsuki and Izuku" for the highly popular Episode 61, "Deku vs. Kacchan 2." Nobuhiko Okamoto portrayed Bakugo carrying the crushing weight of responsibility for All Might's retirement, while Daiki Yamashita played Deku receiving those emotions. Their performance, coupled with the music, left the audience even more transfixed by the stage. The concert then entered Season 4, recounting the battle to save the captured girl, Eri, during the Hero Internship / Shie Hassaikai Arc through three tracks: "Something to Protect," "I'll Be Your Hero," and "Might," bringing Part 1 to a close.

A Plethora of Melodies Heightening the Climax of Both the Story and the Concert: Part 2 Report

Part 2 commenced with a talk segment featuring Yuki Hayashi, Daiki Yamashita, Nobuhiko Okamoto, and Yuki Kaji. Yuki Hayashi, who has been composing the background music for MHA since Season 1 ten years ago, reflected, "While composing these tracks, I have been fighting my own battles in my own way." Responding to this, Daiki Yamashita expressed his deep emotions, saying, "I realized that over these past ten years, the staff, the cast, and the music have all fought and built upon each other." When asked about the highlights of Part 2, Yuki Hayashi teased, "As the concert heads toward its climax, you'll hear tracks applied to certain scenes that differ from the music actually used in the anime broadcast. I think you'll be able to experience something quite different from when you watched the anime," further raising the anticipation of the audience.

First, during the Joint Training Arc (Class 1-A vs. Class 1-B) in Season 5, Yuki Kaji passionately delivered Todoroki's resolve—"Embrace your fire, to become who I want to be!"—against the backdrop of "Go, Beyond Plus Ultra." From there, the awakening of Deku's "Blackwhip" Quirk, as well as the hidden past and awakening of Tomura Shigaraki, Deku's villainous counterpart, were woven together through three tracks: "Successors," "Symbol of Fear," and "Paranormal Liberation Front." The battle between heroes and villains then accelerated intensely with the "Paranormal Liberation War Arc" in Season 6! Fierce battles continued, including Deku's clash against Tomura Shigaraki and the grueling fight against Lady Nagant, a former hero who fell from grace to become a villain.

During the direct confrontation with Shigaraki, "Revengers" was performed, and Daiki Yamashita delivered a chillingly intense performance that perfectly captured Deku facing Shigaraki. The fight against Nagant featured the fast-paced track "The Last Wielder." Here too, Yamashita showcased a different side of Deku, portraying his battle using "One For All" at a simulated 100% and his desperate pleas to Nagant, who still retained the heart of a hero. Following this, during the scene where Deku's classmates attempt to bring him back after he throws himself into a lonely battle, "I'm sorry for everything I've done" played. Nobuhiko Okamoto and Izuku Midoriya's voice actor, Daiki Yamashita, enacted the scene where Bakugo apologizes to Deku and implores him to fight together, moving many in the audience to tears.
