On the official X account for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, the announcement of an upcoming campaign with Lawson was made as part of the ongoing 5th-anniversary celebrations. The release of an original, newly drawn illustration has been sparking a massive buzz.
According to the announcement, the Jujutsu Kaisen anime 5th-anniversary campaign will kick off at Lawson stores starting June 16th. In addition to receiving an original art sheet with the purchase of eligible products, various merchandise featuring the newly drawn illustration is scheduled to be available.
The newly unveiled visual features five characters—Satoru Gojō (CV: Yūichi Nakamura), Kento Nanami (CV: Kenjirō Tsuda), Nobara Kugisaki (CV: Asami Seto), Yūji Itadori (CV: Junya Enoki), and Megumi Fushiguro (CV: Yūma Uchida)—gathering in front of a food truck with "MILK STAND" written on it. Itadori is flashing a huge grin with crepes in both hands, while Nanami has taken off his trademark glasses and holds a carton drink. Additionally, large milk tanks are lined up behind Gojō, and each character is uniquely depicted in a relaxed, casual style.
The anime Jujutsu Kaisen is a wildly popular animated series based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami. It is a dark fantasy that depicts the harsh battles of Jujutsu Sorcerers who use cursed energy to exorcise "Curses"—monsters born from negative human emotions. Since the first season of the TV anime aired in October 2020, the franchise has continued to garner immense popularity and support both domestically and internationally, following the massive success of its theatrical movie and the broadcast of its second season.
In response to this post, fans flooded the comments with joyful reactions, such as "Itadori-kun is smiling with crepes in both hands, so cute!" and "Wait, is that Nanamin without his glasses?!" Some humorous call-outs also poured in, like "It's super cute, but I thought Go-san was carrying a milk tank on his back." Furthermore, since the campaign is at Lawson—a highly accessible, nationwide convenience store chain—many voiced their delight, saying, "I can actually go to this!"
