Active Sumo Wrestlers Tamawashi & Tamashōhō Confirmed to Appear in the TV Anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia"! Comment Video Also Arrives with Their Thoughts on Taking on Voice Acting for the First Time

The TV anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia" will premiere on July 4 at 11:00 PM with a one-hour special consisting of the first two episodes consecutively. As the broadcast finally approaches, active sekitori (high-ranking sumo wrestlers) Tamawashi and Tamashōhō from the Kataonami stable have been confirmed to appear in this work.

Tamawashi will play the role of Genghis Khan, who founded the Mongol Empire, and Tamashōhō will play the role of a resilient Mongol soldier. Both sekitori, who are originally from Mongolia, are said to be voicing other characters as well, raising expectations for the start of the broadcast.

Regarding his first voice recording session, Tamawashi showed a certain sense of accomplishment, commenting, "It was difficult at first, but I gradually got used to it, and I think it turned out well in the end." Tamashōhō, who shares that he loves anime, said, "I've always wanted to try a challenge like this someday, but I couldn't do it well at all, which made me realize just how difficult it is. It was a lot of fun, and it was a truly great experience."

Furthermore, when asked about his reaction upon receiving the offer to appear, Tamawashi looked back on his feelings at the time, saying, "At first, I wondered what it would be like, but I was happy to receive the offer." Tamashōhō also expressed his joy, stating, "Since I originally liked anime and manga myself, I was very happy and became interested right from the start."

Attention is focused on what kind of performance Tamawashi and Tamashōhō, who usually show great activity on the sumo ring (dohyo), will deliver in this work, which marks their first challenge as voice actors.

And so that this work can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere, sequential distribution on various streaming platforms has been confirmed to begin on July 4, alongside the terrestrial broadcast.
