The 3rd key visual and pre-broadcast PV for the TV anime "Sparks of Tomorrow" have been released.
This work is the latest title from Kyoto Animation, depicting an adventure story of a boy and a girl who dreamed of the era of electricity in a world covered in smoke. Broadcasting will start sequentially on ABC TV, TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, and BS11 from July 5, and it will also be distributed exclusively worldwide on Netflix.
At the "Japan Premiere (Advance Screening)" where live viewings were held in 8 theaters nationwide on Sunday, June 14, with Shinjuku Piccadilly as the main venue, Yūma Uchida (voicing Kihachi Sakamoto), Sora Amamiya (voicing Inako Momokawa), and director Minoru Ota took the stage. Numerous new details ahead of the broadcast were revealed.
The 3rd key visual dynamically depicts the characters with rich expressions, centering on Kihachi and Inako, where the glow of light bulbs catches the eye amidst the work's impressive art style. On the official X account, a giveaway campaign for a B2 promotional poster using this visual will also be held.
The pre-broadcast PV is set to the opening theme song "Eureka Evrika," sung and written by Luna Goami, and features numerous new cuts including memorable lines and unique expressions from each character, heightening the excitement for the upcoming broadcast.
As for the additional cast, it was announced that Hiroshi Yanaka will play Inako's father, Jinemon Momokawa; Mayumi Asano will play her mother, Naeko Momokawa; Daichi Endō will play Bunshichi Yagura; and Ayahi Takagaki will play both Tome and Inari.
The ending theme song is provided by "Ginger Root," a project by Southern California native Cameron Lew, and the song title was announced to be "Soarin'." The advance distribution dates for each theme song have also been decided, and the Pre-add/Pre-Save campaign has started.
Furthermore, on Saturday, August 22, a special screening will be held at the Film Theatre of the Museum of Kyoto, located in Kyoto, which serves as the setting for the story. The event will feature a screening of Episode 7 along with advance screenings of Episodes 8 and 9, followed by a talk show featuring Yūma Uchida and director Minoru Ōta. Lottery applications for tickets are being accepted on the electronic ticket app "Ponycan" until 10:00 AM on Monday, July 27.
Following the first round in the UK, the second in Thailand, and the third in Japan, the advance screenings being held as a world premiere are set for their fourth round at "Anime Expo" in North America. In conjunction with this, a character PV was released on the Kyoto Animation YouTube channel. Furthermore, the work has been selected for the official competition in the TV Films category at the "Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026," to be held in late June.
