The Japan premiere of the TV anime "Sparks of Tomorrow" was held on June 14 at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo. At the event, a special theatrical edit of Episodes 1 through 3 was screened. Following the screening, Yūma Uchida (voice of Kihachi Sakamoto), Sora Amamiya (voice of Inako Momokawa), and Director Minoru Ota took the stage for a greeting. A report on the first part of the event has arrived.

This work is the latest title from Kyoto Animation, depicting the adventurous tale of a boy and a girl who dream of the era of electricity in a world covered in smoke. Broadcasting will begin sequentially on ABC TV, TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, and BS11 from July 5, and it will also be streamed exclusively worldwide on Netflix.

Staff and Cast Poured Their Souls into the "Overwhelming Visuals" and "Human Drama"

The TV anime "Sparks of Tomorrow" is set in a fictional era where steam engines have highly developed. Kihachi Sakamoto, a boy who dreams of the "era of electricity," had been recording electrical inventions in the "20th Century Electricity Catalog" alongside his older brother, Seiroku. However, Seiroku went to war with the catalog and never returned. Years pass, and Inako Momokawa, the daughter of a sake brewer, appears before Kihachi, and for some reason, he is entrusted with the catalog by her. Targeting it is Yōsuke Mizoe, the scion of a financial conglomerate who is pushing forward with an arranged marriage to Inako. Over the catalog, the "dreams" of Kihachi and Inako begin to move—

After the screening, Uchida, Amamiya, and Director Ota took the stage amid thunderous applause. Director Ota mentioned that he had previously attended the world premiere in London, sharing the overseas reaction: "Everyone said the physical comedy was hilarious." Uchida nodded deeply, agreeing, "As you will see when you watch it, the characters move around frantically all over the screen." Meanwhile, Uchida had also attended the world premiere in Thailand. "The audience was making sounds while watching. The loudest shout came at the end of Episode 1, during Yōsuke's line, 'My wife,'" he reported on the excitement in Thailand.
