[Photos/Images] True Identity of the Mastermind in the Anime "Dr. STONE" Revealed! "Powerhouse Voices," "Super Creepy Acting" — The Truth Unveiled by Kōichi Yamadera & Kotono Mitsuishi 1st

In Episode 36 of the anime "Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE," broadcast on June 18, Senkū Ishigami (CV: Yūsuke Kobayashi) and his friends finally confronted Whyman, the mastermind behind the petrification of all humanity. Whyman's voice is played by veteran voice actors Kōichi Yamadera and Kotono Mitsuishi, and online viewers were buzzing with excitement, leaving comments like "What a casting choice with such a massive presence!" and "The final boss vibes are insane!"

In Episode 36, "WHYMAN," Senkū and the others reach a "giant stain" squirming on the lunar surface, which turns out to be a massive cluster of petrification devices (Medusa). When Senkū speaks to a Medusa he brought from Earth, saying, "You can talk, can't you, via radio waves? Whether it's in English or Japanese," a reply comes back: "YES." The true identity of Whyman, the mastermind behind the petrification of all humanity, was Medusa, a mechanical lifeform.

Then, Senkū and his friends realize that Whyman's goal is to have itself nurtured by intelligent lifeforms to whom it has granted eternal life through petrification. Whyman affirms their deduction and begins to tell the truth behind the petrification of all humanity. Whyman explains that despite offering eternal life through petrification as bait, for some reason, humanity did not nurture Medusa. It then creepily questions Senkū and the others repeatedly, asking "WHY!!?" and "WHY WHY WHY...", a development that also revealed the meaning behind the "WHY" messages that Whyman had been sending all this time.

In response to the truth that was finally revealed, online viewers flooded the internet with reactions such as, "An unexpected true identity!", "The foreshadowing was paid off so well, it makes perfect sense," and "An episode where everything connects." Kōichi Yamadera and Kotono Mitsuishi, who voiced Whyman, also received a wave of praise with comments like, "The final boss vibes are off the charts," "Their voices are insanely powerful," "The acting is terrifyingly good," and "What a casting choice with such an incredible presence!"
