Ahead of its nationwide release on Friday, June 26th, highly anticipated footage from the upcoming film "Sgt. Frog (movie 2026)" has been newly unveiled to the public.
This film was produced as part of the 20th-anniversary project for the anime "Sgt. Frog," based on the hit manga by Mine Yoshizaki, which has been serialized in "Monthly Shōnen Ace" (published by KADOKAWA CORPORATION) since 1999. It marks the first theatrical film for the franchise in 16 years since 2010. Director Yuichi Fukuda—one of the comedy industry's premier hitmakers, well-known for the live-action "Gintama" film series—has taken on the roles of screenwriter and supervising director, tackling his very first animated project.
The newly released footage begins with a scene where Sergeant Keroro is dried up from the sheer shock of being left behind from the Hinata family's vacation. Suddenly, he receives an emergency call from Fuyuki, who is currently in Okinawa, informing him that "mysterious monsters have appeared in massive numbers in Shibuya, causing a panic."
Upon turning on the television, news broadcasts show a chaotic scene where mysterious monsters that suddenly materialized in Shibuya are attacking pedestrians, throwing the city into a state of panic. Contemplating their sudden and unexplained appearance, Corporal Giroro, who had done some advance research, mutters, "I heard these monsters can only be seen if you wear a specific wristwatch..." Shouting, "Anyway, we are heading to Shibuya before they beat us to it (with the alien invasion)!" Keroro and Corporal Giroro rush out toward Shibuya. Meanwhile, a colossal passenger aircraft appears right before the Hinata family in Okinawa, setting the stage for a whirlwind of intense developments.
