"That's not what the protagonist looks like" "So excited!" Reactions pour in as the tense key visual & main PV for the second cour of anime "Daemons of the Shadow Realm" are revealed

The key visual, main PV, and theme song information for the second cour of the TV anime "Daemons of the Shadow Realm," which premieres on Saturday, July 4, have been revealed, and an excited response has poured in on social media.

"Daemons of the Shadow Realm" is the latest work by Hiromu Arakawa, creator of the "Fullmetal Alchemist" series, based on the popular manga currently serialized in "Monthly Shonen Gangan." The animation is produced by Bones.

The revealed second cour key visual depicts Sayu-sama, who throws himself into a fierce battle with Ivan, and behind him the protagonist Yuru, who draws a bow and arrow and fixes a sharp gaze on the enemy.

Meanwhile, the main PV, which features the opening theme, packs in one dramatic scene after another that hints at a turbulent story: the mysterious man Ivan, who is after Yuru, attacks Higashimura and confronts the elder Yamaha, while Kyoka entrusts a mission to Danji, Yuru's childhood friend. On top of that, a mysterious new character with an alien-like appearance, as well as Danji racing across the lower world together with Oshirasama, can be seen.

The theme songs coloring the second cour have also been announced: the opening theme is "back shot" by Masanori Otoda, and the ending theme is "Kujaku" by Kei Sugawara. Otoda said, "I wrote it quietly around the theme of 'the hidden side of humanity,'" while Sugawara said, "I sang it with a complex yet utterly straightforward obsession," each speaking about the feelings they poured into their songs.
