[Photos/Images] What a niche location... Frieren from "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" spotted at Lake Senba in Mito, delighting local fans: "Just a bit more until Aura of Kairakuen" 1st

On the official X account of "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," a photo of Frieren standing at Horyu Bridge in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, was released with the title "Frieren of the Bridges," causing a stir primarily among local fans.

In the released image, a Frieren plushie is sitting snugly beside a stone pillar engraved with "Horyu Bridge." The background features a river and a bridge walkway extending outward, making it a shot that captures the atmosphere of being in the middle of a journey. Since late June, the account has frequently posted photos of visits to Oarai, Tsuchiura, and Mito in Ibaraki Prefecture under titles such as "Wandering Frieren," "Guillotine Tsuchiura," and "Natto Frieren," and the official Ibaraki tour has been attracting the attention of fans.

"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is based on the hit fantasy manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. Set in a world "after" the Demon King was defeated by the Hero's party, the story depicts Frieren, an elven mage who has lived for over a thousand years and defeated the Demon King alongside the Hero, embarking on a "journey to learn about people" triggered by the death of her former companion. The flow of eternity unique to an elf and her fleeting yet warm interactions with humans have touched the hearts of many readers and viewers.

In response to the latest shot from the official Ibaraki pilgrimage, comments from fans who appear to be locals flooded in with warm words of welcome such as, "Who would have thought Horyu Bridge, which connects to Lake Senba in Mito, would become a photo spot!", "You've come to a really niche place," "You're truly thoroughly enjoying sightseeing in Mito," and "Please enjoy your stay!!" The reply section has been brimming with excitement unique to the region, including comments playing on a character from the work, such as "Just a bit more until Aura of Kairakuen."
