An anime adaptation of Blade & Bastard, a full-fledged dark fantasy set in the world of the classic RPG Wizardry, has been confirmed for 2027. Along with this announcement, the first teaser PV featuring anime footage has been released, and the main staff and cast information have been unveiled.

The original work is a light novel series created by the tag-team of author Kumo Kagyu (best known for GOBLIN SLAYER) and illustrator so-bin (best known for Overlord). The series has been translated into over 10 languages worldwide, with cumulative circulation surpassing 700,000 copies.

In the released teaser PV, viewers can catch a glimpse of the profound world-building set in the "Dungeon," where death is always by one's side.

The main cast features Makoto Furukawa as Iarumas, Tomori Kusunoki as Garbage, and Daiki Yamashita as Raraja. Tomoki Kobayashi is directing the series, with Naruhisa Arakawa handling series composition, and Shinfu in charge of animation production.

Additionally, a congratulatory video comment on the anime adaptation has arrived from Robert Woodhead, the co-creator of the computer RPG Wizardry, which serves as the basis for this work. The video is now available on the official Wizardry YouTube channel.

Furthermore, information regarding the title's exhibition at "Anime Expo 2026," one of North America's largest anime events held in Los Angeles, USA from Thursday, July 2 to Sunday, July 5, 2026, has also been revealed. At the Drecom Industry Panel scheduled for Saturday, July 4 (local time), Makoto Furukawa and Daiki Yamashita are scheduled to take the stage and host a talk show.
