During the Tougen Anki TV Anime Special Program: Season 2 New Information Announcement, the Kikokutai visual was unveiled as the new key visual for Season 2: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc. In addition, eight new characters comprising the Kikokutai and their respective voice cast members have been revealed.
Based on the popular manga by Yura Urushibara serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten) with over 6 million copies in circulation, Tougen Anki is a next-generation dark hero demon fantasy. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Japanese folktale Momotaro, it depicts the fierce conflict between those who inherit the blood of Oni (demons) and those who carry the blood of Momotaro. The Kyoto Arc aired in July 2025, followed by the Nerima Arc in October 2025.
The newly released Kikokutai visual features its leader, Hayate Todoroki, at the center, along with seven other members staring forward with sharp, piercing eyes. The Kikokutai is a group of Oni that does not belong to the Oni Organization, driven by their core conviction to completely eradicate the "Momo" (Peaches). Anticipation is building for how their story will unfold alongside Shiki Ichinose and the rest of the students from Rasetsu Academy.
It was announced that these Kikokutai members will be voiced by the following cast: Uri Torikai will be played by Kentaro Kumagai, Shinichi Fuwa by Ryūho Nagaoka, Misaki Kakoi by Tomohiro Ohno, Go Todomeki by Shintaro Otohara, Kyotaro Otohara by Yuki Sakakibara, Akari Hirunuma by Wataru Hatano, Miyo Umitsuki by Hitomi Ueda, and their leader, Hayate Todoroki, will be played by Gakuto Kajiwara.
In the Tougen Anki TV Anime Special Program: Season 2 New Information Announcement broadcast on Thursday, July 2, Gakuto Kajiwara (voice of Hayate Todoroki) made a surprise appearance alongside Kazuki Ura (voice of Shiki Ichinose), Kotaro Nishiyama (voice of Jin Kōgasaki), and Natsuki Hanae (voice of Juji Yusuribe). The cast shared a lively conversation, discussing behind-the-scenes stories from the ongoing voice recording sessions for the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc and the challenges Kajiwara faced when portraying Todoroki. The special program is currently available via archived stream.
