"2026 Sanrio Character Ranking" Results Announced! Pompompurin Secures 1st Place for the 5th Time, While Ahiru no Pekkle Makes a Huge Leap

The final rankings for the popular voting event "2026 Sanrio Character Ranking" have been announced. The total number of votes recorded a historic high of 70,647,379, reaching 112% compared to last year.

Pompompurin, celebrating its 30th anniversary year this year, shined in 1st place. Garnering over 7 million votes, this marks its second consecutive year and fifth overall time securing the top spot. Following in 2nd place was Cinnamoroll, and in 3rd place was Pochacco, resulting in Sanrio's "Big Three Dog Characters" dominating the top three.

Additionally, Ahiru no Pekkle made a significant jump in ranking from 10th place last year to 6th place, and My Sweet Piano also climbed considerably from 18th place last year to 13th place, gathering immense support.

Furthermore, in the newly established "Happilyna Friends Division" this year, Chochocira claimed 1st place across all three awards. In the "Partner Division," which teams up with corporate and local government characters, "Sirotan × Sanrio Characters" shined in 1st place.

Looking ahead, it has been decided that from September, the "Thank You for Your Support Stage Show" featuring characters ranked from 1st to 10th in this ranking will be held at 12 venues nationwide. At the event, the characters plan to express their gratitude to fans through dancing, photo sessions, and more. Detailed information will be announced from August 2026 onwards.
