Comment from Maaya Sakamoto (voicing Motoko Kusanagi)

I have had a connection with Ghost in the Shell in the past, but being chosen to voice Motoko this time was completely unexpected. Atsuko Tanaka, whom I have deeply respected and loved both as a person and an actress since I was young due to numerous opportunities to work together, spent many years carefully nurturing and loving Motoko. When I was offered the role of Motoko for this series, I simply couldn't accept it right away.

However, after meeting with the director and producers, and hearing that this is a project created with deep respect by a generation of creators who admired and were influenced by Ghost in the Shell, I was touched by their straightforward passion. I thought about whether there was even a little something I could do. Recording for all episodes has already been completed. Facing this work became a truly important time for me to process my gratitude to Atsuko-san and the loneliness I feel.

The Motoko in this series is highly expressive and energetic, with many comical scenes. It was a fresh experience to see this side of Motoko in an anime. For that reason, playing her was extremely difficult. Beneath her lightheartedness, Motoko silently carries a sense of deficiency while moving forward—I kept thinking about what that driving force truly is.

No matter how much time passes and how eras change from now on, I believe the inspiration and questions that Ghost in the Shell offers to people around the world will remain eternal. I feel incredibly grateful to have been involved in such a legendary work that continues to be loved and admired forever.

Comment from Kazuhiro Yamaji (voicing Daisuke Aramaki)

"Ghost in the Shell." This title brings back memories. This work was my first involvement in a theatrical anime. Atsuko Tanaka was there. Iemasa Kayumi was there. Both have now passed away, but perhaps because I was at the peak of my nervousness, I remember it as if it were yesterday. I am proud to be involved once again.

And this time, when I faced this uncool-yet-cool old guy named Aramaki, although we couldn't record together, I felt an indescribable happiness when I was enveloped by Maaya Sakamoto's calm, pre-recorded voice. This work is absolutely irresistible.

Comment from Hiroki Yasumoto (voicing Batou)

Ghost in the Shell is a series I have loved and adored since I was young. I never knew what life would throw at me, to think I would get involved in that world. I will simply do my absolute best. That is all I can say. Thank you very much. Oh, right. I actually went to the Ghost in the Shell exhibition, but I couldn't talk about it because I didn't want people calling it a "teaser hint." That was the only painful part (lol). By the way, the exhibition was amazing.

Comment from Yūichi Nakamura (voicing Togusa)

Joining the latest installment of this series, which has been animated many times before with each version being filled with charm, was like a bolt from the blue for me, having watched the series myself... Anyway, I remember being utterly shocked.

Not long after my participation was decided, the recording sessions began. I think almost all of my time was spent figuring out how to face Togusa—or rather, "Togusa-kun," as I intentionally want to call him in this work.

It's not that Togusa-kun lacks experience, but he can be a bit naive when it comes to doing the work of "Section 9," so he will show a rich range of emotions, making him a slightly different type compared to his past image. I want to play him as a character who can share the viewers' perspective.

I think this work will be enjoyable not only for newcomers experiencing it for the first time but also for long-time fans who have loved the series. It features not only powerful visuals and action, but also many themes and questions that are highly relevant today, so I hope you will savor it thoroughly.

Please look forward to the new "Ghost in the Shell."

Comment from Kōsuke Gotō (voicing Ishikawa)

I first encountered Ghost in the Shell during my student days. At the time, I couldn't understand much of it and felt it was a mature, gritty work. As I grew into an adult, I discovered the brilliance of Ghost in the Shell, came to admire it, and now I am involved as Ishikawa in this project.

If I were to compare Ishikawa to furniture, I personally feel he is like a sofa. I am well aware that many people hold various strong feelings toward this series. I am one of them. While embracing those feelings, I thought deeply, carefully, and challenged myself to create things with an aggressive mindset.

Well then, have a safe trip into the cyber world.

Comment from Tōru Nara (voicing Saitō)

While I am looking forward to the TV anime "The Ghost in the Shell," I also feel an indescribable sense of tension. What kind of visuals will it have, and what kind of music will shape the atmosphere of the work? Even though I am a performer, I am looking forward to it myself.

I will be playing Saitō. I feel truly honored.

Ghost in the Shell. Thankfully, I have had the privilege of appearing in it once before (just once), but I never imagined that such a future would be waiting for me in the Reiwa era. I wish I could tell my past self. Please look forward to and enjoy "The Ghost in the Shell."

Comment from Tomoko Kaneda (voicing Fuchikoma)

My voice quality makes it easy to get recognized (lol).

I usually don't do many multi-character roles, but thankfully, I was put in charge of voicing all the Fuchikomas that appear in large numbers! I was incredibly happy! And each and every Fuchikoma is just so incredibly dear to me!

However, a long time ago, a professor who studies voices analyzed mine and apparently it shares the same sound waves as a white-handed gibbon when it feels a sense of danger and calls out to its companions. Since someone like me voiced so many Fuchikomas, it might cause some mysterious headaches for you all (lol). If that happens, please make sure to visit an ear, nose, and throat doctor (lol).

Anyway, it was so much fun!! Fuchikoma is the best!! If you like, please try to find your favorite Fuchikoma! (lol)

Comment from Marie Ōi (voicing Operator)

I never thought the day would come when I would be involved in Ghost in the Shell... It is a huge honor! While "Ghost in the Shell" has been adapted into video many times, I think this version follows the original manga closely, allowing you to feel more of its pop and comical aspects.

Operator-san, also known as Ope-ko, is an android without a Ghost and goes through some terrible ordeals, but when I received the setting materials, the instructions said, "(Ope-ko) is cute. Please draw her while thinking 'become cute no matter what'." Also, the word "cute" was written on every expression drawing, and I felt a lot of love (lol).

Since Ope-ko is an existence that watches over Section 9, I, along with all the viewers, want to witness the broadcast of this series, which is packed with the thoughts and feelings of all the staff and cast!

Comment from Chafurin (voicing the Minister of Internal Affairs)

I am deeply moved to be able to participate in the "Ghost in the Shell" that I have always admired.

A story that anticipates the future, a heavy political structure that supports it, numerous cool mechs, plenty of sexiness, and high-sense wit—among all this, playing the political boss, the Minister of Internal Affairs, who is arrogant but doesn't do a sloppy job, like a massive bulldog, was pure bliss.
