Character Information & Cast Comments
Sorghaghtani (CV: Misaki Kuno)
The primary consort of Tolui. A wise woman who believes that "the world is wider than the steppe" and seeks Elements, the knowledge of the West. She also possesses the insight to perceive the dangers that come with the misalignment of military might and authority.
<Misaki Comment Kuno's>
For the first time in my voice acting career, I played a role where I have a husband and a child. I was so, so happy. Playing a character close to my own age was something I had always longed for, so I am filled with gratitude toward the production staff for entrusting me with the role of Sorghaghtani.
During the recording, I received very detailed direction, and it was a continuous process of discovery, reflection, and challenge, making every session thrillingly fun. As the wife of her beloved Tolui and a mother with a child, how will Sorghaghtani, who lives gracefully while sticking to her convictions, interact with Shitara? Please look forward to finding out!
Möge (CV: Ayaka Asai)
The fourth consort of Ögedei. She deeply admires Borachin, and although she describes herself as "not very bright," she has an innocent and honest personality.
<Ayaka Asai's Comment>
I am Ayaka Asai, and I will be playing the role of Möge. When I read the original manga, I was instantly drawn in by the contrast between Tomato Soup-sensei's soft art style and the tense atmosphere that permeates the entire story. The way each character lives their life to the fullest while carrying their own positions and thoughts is depicted so beautifully that I couldn't stop turning the pages.
Möge, whom I play, is also one of those living true to herself in that world. I recorded her role while carefully treasuring the unique atmosphere of the work and Möge's charm. I would be delighted if you look forward to the broadcast!
Kirgistani (CV: Mayumi Shintani)
The third consort of Ögedei. She has intense emotional swings; while she acts cute and sweet toward Ögedei, she views the other consorts as enemies and does not hide her rivalry. She also has a dramatic side, easily getting frantic and making a fuss whenever trouble arises.
<Mayumi Comment Shintani's>
This is a story of the women who lived in the shadows of the history carved out by men (heroes). I find myself empathizing equally with their tearfully warm solidarity and their spine-chillingly harsh betrayals. Perhaps this is because, no matter how cleverly they employ political schemes, what essentially drives them is pure love and passion.
Kirgistani seems to manage things well, yet from a modern perspective, she finds herself in a rather harsh situation. Through this work, being able to feel and portray that there might have been women who lived resiliently while being swallowed up by the era and customs was a very exciting experience. The recording studio was so much fun!! Please look forward to it.
Borachin (CV: ????)
The first empress (Great Khatun) of Ögedei. She is always calm, collected, and dignified. Saying things like "In politics, it is vital to pull strings behind the scenes," she is an unfathomable woman who laments the empire's future and the imbalance of power, secretly spinning her own schemes.
