Seriously Too Handsome! Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Author's Illustration of Himmel's "Cool, Refreshing Gaze" Sparks Reactions From Fans Worldwide

On the official X account for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, an illustration drawn by the original creators for attendees of Japan Expo 2026 in Paris, France, was unveiled, sparking a huge response among fans both in Japan and abroad.

The illustration is an original piece created specifically for the occasion by original story creator Kanehito Yamada and artist Tsukasa Abe. Alongside celebratory messages reading "To everyone attending Japan Expo!" and "Happy 25th Anniversary, Japan Expo!! 2026.7.9," Himmel and Frieren are depicted with delicate linework. Built on a monochrome line-drawing base, the piece uses pale light blue for Himmel's hair and eyes and vivid emerald green for Frieren's eyes and earrings as accent colors, resulting in a cool and beautiful visual.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a smash-hit fantasy manga by Yamada (original story) and Abe (art).
