Chinese Anime "Paw & Palaces" Japanese Dub to Begin in October, Teaser Trailer Released! Lead Actor Kazuki Ura: "Cats, Cats, Cats... What a Wonderful World!"

Production has been confirmed for "Paw & Palaces," the Japanese dub of the Chinese-made anime based on a manga modeled after real cats living in Beijing's Forbidden City. Broadcasts and streaming are set to begin in October.

The story is set around "Paw & Palaces," a secret organization tucked away in a corner of the Forbidden City that protects national treasures. It follows six cats, each possessing wisdom and courage, as they fight to defeat the Black Owl—an evil force that corrupts the memories known as "Bukka" that dwell within cultural treasures—in order to protect these precious relics.

Alongside the announcement of the anime adaptation, a teaser trailer and concept visual were unveiled. The newly revealed teaser trailer depicts a battle led by the protagonist, Soubi, and his fellow cats, with narration provided by Kazuki Ura, who voices Soubi.

The main characters and the Japanese dub cast were also announced. Kazuki Ura voices Soubi, the brainy leader of Paw & Palaces; Makoto Furukawa voices Oboi, the powerhouse with a sturdy build; and Sora Amamiya voices Heian, the calm and elegant former stray. In addition, Takeo Otsuka voices Zeze, who excels at gathering information; Kentaro Tone voices Rohan, the knowledgeable eldest member; and Hikaru Tono voices Momo, Oboi's talented and beautiful younger sister.

Commenting on the announcement, Ura, who voices Soubi, shared his enthusiasm: "The characters are cats, cats, cats, cats, nothing but cats... what a wonderful world this is! Behind their usual adorable appearance lies a dignified side when facing enemies, along with intense action sequences. I can't wait for the day we get to share this with everyone!"
