[Photos/Images] "That's going to be absolutely adorable!" "I can't wait to hear it" - Anticipation rises as new 'Kinnikuman' anime character songs kick off, with Meat-kun as the 1st release 1st

As the first character song for the anime 'Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc', a digital release of "Check! Meat", sung by Meat-kun (CV: Sumire Uesaka), has been confirmed.

The original 'Kinnikuman' manga, created by the author Yudetamago (scenario writer Takashi Shimada and illustrator Yoshinori Nakai), began serialization in 'Weekly Shonen Jump' (Shueisha) in 1979. It is currently being serialized after transferring to 'Weekly Playboy' and 'Shu-Pre NEWS' (both by Shueisha).

It is a massively popular comic series with over 77 million copies in circulation, and its latest volume, Vol. 92, is currently on sale. It is the story of Kinnikuman, a clumsy and goofy dropout Chojin (superhuman) from Planet Kinniku, who achieves growth through effort, friendship, and victory, eventually becoming the strongest man in the Chojin martial arts world. The anime began broadcasting in 1983, and the highly successful 'Kinkeshi' figure line is a popular series that has sold over 180 million units.

Releasing digitally on July 29th, Meat-kun's first new character song in about 30 years is a comical track packed with his many charms, including lines and call-and-response bits unique to Meat-kun as the second who supports Kinnikuman in his corner. Sumire Uesaka, who sang the track, commented, "Please look forward to this cute and clever song that is so very Meat-kun!"

On social media, fans have been sharing their excitement with comments like, "An unexpected start with Meat-kun! Wait, that's going to be absolutely adorable!", "A Meat-kun character song on July 29th (Niku/Meat Day)!", and "I can't wait to hear it."

In the new anime series, Production I.G animates the Perfect Origin Arc, which continues after the Kinniku Planet Reign Scramble Arc and boasts immense popularity even in the original manga. With Mamoru Miyano voicing Kinnikuman, and Akira Kamiya voicing Mayumi Kinniku and Prince Kamehame, two seasons have been broadcasted and streamed so far. Starting with this new track from Meat-kun, new character songs for the Justice Chojin are scheduled to be released on the 29th of every month (Niku/Meat Day).
