On the official X account for "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," a post featuring a photo of a Frieren plush toy has gone viral. It's a unique photo post that takes advantage of a display quirk that makes the image look different depending on the viewing environment.

The post was captioned "Buttsugiri-Frieren" (a pun combining "chopped into pieces" with "Frieren"). Viewed on a smartphone app, the image shows a Frieren plush being devoured by a mimic, split vertically into four pieces that connect together to form a single picture. Viewed in a PC browser, however, each piece is displayed separately as four independent images, appearing disconnected from one another.

The manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is a fantasy series written by Kanehito Yamada with art by Tsukasa Abe. It is serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan) and has become a massive hit. Set in a world after the demon king has been defeated, it follows the adventures and new journey of Frieren, an elven mage whose lifespan far exceeds that of humans. The series was adapted into a TV anime in 2023, and it continues to expand across a wide range of media, with a third season, "The Golden Land Arc," currently in production and slated to air in October 2027.
