"So Frustrating, They Don't Have My Size": Adults Also Long for Dream Item as 'Detective Conan' Kick-Power-Boosting Shoes Go on Sale

Achilles Corporation's official X account has announced the release of "Kick-Power-Boosting Shoes" from its "Shunsoku" brand, inspired by the anime Detective Conan, sparking buzz online. The shoes feature a dial on the side that makes a clicking sound just like in the show, but despite the sizing being aimed at children, many adult fans have taken to social media to express their strong desire for the product.

The posted images introduce shoes in a red-and-white color scheme, modeled after an invention by Professor Agasa used by protagonist Conan Edogawa (voiced by Minami Takayama) in the series. A dial-shaped part is attached to the side, which makes a clicking sound when turned, faithfully recreating the effect seen in the show as closely as possible. The shoes also come with an acrylic stand featuring newly drawn artwork. The lower part of the images also shows a close-up photo of the dial and the design of a special red shoebox.

The anime Detective Conan is a smash-hit series based on the mystery manga created by Gosho Aoyama. The TV anime has continued airing for many years, and its annual theatrical films also draw major attention, making it a franchise with a wide-ranging media mix. The story depicts Conan taking on numerous difficult cases, as well as his ongoing feud with the Black Organization.

In response to the post, social media reactions have included comments like, "If I kick a soccer ball wearing these, I could become Conan!", "What a dream item," and "So frustrating, they don't have my size." Others playfully flipped the show's famous catchphrase to humorously beg for an adult version, writing, "I was totally going to buy these, but they only go up to 24.5 cm... Please make a version with the look of an adult, but the size of a kid..."
