Rica Matsumoto Appears on "Say You To Yo Asobi"! Battles Shotaro Morikubo & Sogo Nakamura for the Right to Make an Announcement

On ABEMA's Anime LIVE channel, "Say You To Yo Asobi Sunday [Shotaro Morikubo x Sogo Nakamura] #9" aired at 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 12. On this broadcast, Rica Matsumoto appeared as the season's first Sunday guest. The moment she arrived, senior cast member Matsumoto revealed she had an announcement to make, prompting Shotaro Morikubo and Sogo Nakamura to hastily stop her, leading to a contest with the right to make that announcement on the line.

Rica Matsumoto's "Gotcha!" — A Serious Rhythm Showdown for Announcement Rights

The show first held the "Bet Your Musician's Pride! Serious Rhythm Showdown," a game based on Rhythm Heaven: Miracle Stars in which each performer took on one challenge in turn. Morikubo and Nakamura both posted strong scores, but Matsumoto struggled badly with a stage that required dodging lightning bolts. Nakamura couldn't help but tease her, asking, "Are you trying to get hit by the lightning?" and the studio burst into laughter at Matsumoto's screams as she tried to keep time with the rhythm.

In the multiplayer showdown that followed, Matsumoto scored points during the tutorial round and shouted "Gotcha!," which got a huge laugh from the studio. In the real match, however, she was crushed by the two hosts once again, and as she collapsed in defeat, Morikubo declared, "There's no way you're making that announcement."
