A special-format trailer for the anime film "Cosmic Princess Kaguya!," which returns to theaters starting September 18, has been released. The film was produced as a "music animation project," featuring songs from renowned Vocaloid producers. The film's theatrical comeback — a new special-format screening alongside a standard re-release — was announced at a "graduation" stage greeting event held to mark the end of its original run, generating major buzz at the time. Ahead of the screenings beginning September 18, a new trailer for the special-format version has now been released.

The released footage opens with the meeting of Kaguya, a girl from the Moon, and Iroha Sakayori, a high school student. The two become popular streamers in the virtual space Tsukuyomi, but Kaguya finds herself facing an approaching "pickup on the night of the full moon." Refusing to accept their separation, Iroha declares, "I won't let this turn into a bad ending!" The trailer closes with a meaningful scene in which Yachiyo Runami, the administrator of Tsukuyomi, hums the film's insert song "Reply." Whether the two can reach a true ending together leaves viewers curious about how the story will unfold.
