The gap between its small, cute characters and its severe worldview has gained broad popularity from adults to children, with its follower count surpassing 4.84 million to date.

The anime "Chiikawa" is currently broadcasting during "Mezamashi TV" on the Fuji TV network every Tuesday and Thursday from around 7:36 AM. Additionally, "Chiikawa"'s first feature film, "Chiikawa The Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island", is scheduled for release on July 24.
