"The emotion of the Infinity Castle Arc has been revived again" — Huge response to 3 new illustrations released by ufotable to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the "Demon Slayer" movie

On the official X account of animation studio ufotable, the first through third newly drawn illustrations for the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba were released all at once, creating a huge buzz. These were delivered to commemorate the first anniversary of the release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle. Newly drawn based on compositions that were candidates for the "Connect" illustrations revealed at last year's Comic Market 106, the total of three illustrations—evoking the fierce battles and bonds between characters like Tanjiro and Giyu—have generated a massive response among fans.

Looking at the released illustrations in order, first, in Part I "Tanjiro and Giyu," Giyu Tomioka (VA: Takahiro Sakurai) is depicted staring sharply ahead with a blue aura surrounding him while holding his Nichirin Sword, with a large side profile of Tanjiro Kamado (VA: Natsuki Hanae) closing his eyes behind him. Giyu's uniform is torn, and his face and arms are battered, suggesting the middle of a fierce fight to the death. Next, in Part II "Shinobu and Kanao," Shinobu Kocho (VA: Saori Hayami) with a gentle expression is drawn in soft tones behind Kanao Tsuyuri (VA: Reina Ueda), who looks straight ahead. Furthermore, in Part III "Zenitsu and Gramps," one can see Zenitsu Agatsuma (VA: Hiro Shimono) crying and shouting, alongside Jigoro Kuwajima (VA: Shigeru Chiba) standing in the background where red spider lilies bloom.

The anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge. It tells the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy whose family was killed by demons, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps—an organization dedicated to slaying demons—to turn his demon-transformed sister back into a human. Starting with its TV anime adaptation in 2019, theatrical films and TV anime sequels have been produced one after another, making it a blockbuster series that enjoys immense support across a wide range of generations.
