"Yowamushi Pedal" author's support illustration for "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia" delights fans: "This is what happens when someone with the most distinct usual art style draws it"

An illustration drawn by manga artist Wataru Watanabe to celebrate the broadcast of the TV anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia" was released on the show's official X account, generating significant buzz. The characters depicted with a touch different from Watanabe's usual style have drawn voices of surprise and delight from fans.

In the center of the released image, the protagonist of "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia," Shitara (CV: Akira Sekine), is drawn clutching a large book and looking forward. Standing behind her are the third prince, Ögedei (CV: Hiro Shimono), wearing a bow and quiver, and Ögedei's first empress, Boraqchin, wearing a headpiece. Alongside the message "Congratulations on the anime adaptation," a signature is added at the bottom right, making it a piece where the world of the story intersects with Watanabe's unique personality.

The anime "Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia" is based on the historical ensemble drama manga of the same name by Tomato Soup. Based on the original work currently serialized in Akita Shoten's web media "Souffle," it depicts the life of a young girl forging her path through a harsh destiny set in the 13th-century Mongol Empire. Broadcasting since July 4, 2026, every Saturday from 11:30 PM on TV Asahi's nationwide network of 24 stations in the "IMAnimation" block and other outlets, the animation production is handled by Science SARU.
