Chainsmoker Cat looks insanely cool! "Blue Period" author's artistic "Chainsmoker Cat" illustration has fans saying, "She looks like she could actually be a Geidai student"

On the official X account for the Chainsmoker Cat TV anime, a commemorative illustration by Tsubasa Yamaguchi, known for the manga Blue Period, was released to celebrate the broadcast of Episode 4. The protagonist, drawn with Yamaguchi's distinct expressive style, has drawn fan attention for its uniquely artistic finish, quite different from usual.

The released illustration depicts Yani-Neko (voiced by Yūko Natsuyoshi) sitting on a staircase with a handrail, holding a lit cigarette in her right hand and staring straight ahead with wide eyes. White smoke from the cigarette drifts across her face, combining with shaded coloring and a dynamic low-angle shot to create a decadent yet stylish atmosphere. Chainsmoker Cat is a TV anime based on the manga of the same name by Nyan Nyan Factory. It is a comedy series depicting the lazy daily life woven by Yani-Neko, a beastfolk who deeply loves cigarettes and alcohol, alongside various unique surrounding characters. Set in a world where humans and beastfolk coexist, the original manga became a major hit by making waves with its dirty jokes and extreme humor that contrast with its cute character designs.
