The destructive power of Ponytail Jinshi! "The Apothecary Diaries" summer event's newly drawn "yukata look" gets reactions like "My heart literally skipped a beat" and "This should be preserved as a mural"

The official anime X account for "The Apothecary Diaries" announced that it will hold an event titled "Yūen Hiyori" at Nagasaki Stadium City. A rich lineup of merchandise featuring newly drawn yukata illustrations and mini-characters was also unveiled, becoming a hot topic among fans.

The revealed visual depicts four characters dressed in summer festival-style yukatas. Standing side-by-side are Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka), wearing a black yukata with his hair tied in a ponytail and holding a bow and arrow; Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yūki), dressed in a refreshing yukata while holding grilled squid; Xiaolan (voiced by Misaki Kuno), holding a candy apple in a yellow Japanese-patterned yukata; and Shisui (voiced by Asami Seto), wearing a navy yukata with a mask on her head. Furthermore, detail images of the merchandise lineup show items such as T-shirts, acrylic stands, and keychains using these newly drawn illustrations and mini-characters lined up, along with postcard purchase bonuses. This event is scheduled to be held in Nagasaki as well as Tokyo and Osaka in the future, with post-event online sales also planned.

The anime "The Apothecary Diaries" is an inner-court mystery entertainment series based on the light novel by Hyuganatsu. It has become a massive hit, depicting Maomao, a young poison-taster who became an inner-court maid, solving various difficult incidents in the palace using her pharmaceutical knowledge alongside Jinshi, a handsome eunuch, and others. The TV anime series has been well received, and with the third season officially set to air in a split two-cour format—the first cour in October 2026 and the second cour in April 2027—it continues to captivate many fans both domestically and internationally.
