Episode 3 of the anime "Though I Am an Inept Villainess" aired on July 26 (and is currently broadcasting). The emotional scene where the protagonist saves the cornered Riirii (CV: Hana Hishikawa)was depicted touchingly, moving viewers to tears with comments such as "I couldn't help crying along with her" and "Lady Reirin's words almost made me weep."
Due to Shu Keigetsu's (CV: Natsumi Kawaida / after body swap: Manaka Iwami) wicked plot, Kou Reirin (CV: Manaka Iwami / after body swap: Natsumi Kawaida) ended up swapping bodies with her.
In Episode 3, "Open Your Chest and Look Straight Ahead," Keigetsu's court lady Riirii, cornered and threatened by Gayō, a senior court lady of the Kin family, pointed a blade at Reirin (who is trapped in Keigetsu's body). Just as Riirii cut a lock of Reirin's hair, Shin-u (CV: Yūichirō Umehara) and his men rushed in and restrained her. Reirin, however, dismissed Shin-u and his men, claiming that Riirii had merely trimmed her split ends.
When Riirii said, "I pointed a blade at you, trying to cut you...", Reirin gently countered, "You only cut a tiny bit of hair, did you not?" Leaving Riirii looking down, her shoulders trembling. Reirin gently placed her hands on Riirii's cheeks, turning her face forward, and said, "Hunching your back will do you no good. Open your chest, take a deep breath, and look straight ahead. If you ruin your health by looking down, your mother will scold you."
At those words, Riirii recalled her mother once telling her, "A woman must always hold her head high. Keep your posture straight." The images of her mother and Reirin overlapped in her mind. Tears streaming down her face, Riirii sobbed and apologized to Reirin, "I'm so sorry!"
Regarding the scene of Reirin saving Riirii, social media was flooded with emotional comments from viewers, such as "Lady Reirin's words almost made me weep," "I'm so glad she was saved," and "Seeing Riirii cry made me cry too."
