Anime My Hero Academia Special Short "I am a hero too" Preview Stills Unveiled! A Story Depicting Eri, the Girl Rescued by Deku, 8 Years Later

A project celebrating the 10th anniversary of the My Hero Academia anime adaptation, "My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary," is currently underway. As part of this project, preview stills have been unveiled for the special short anime "I am a hero too," which will be available on various video streaming platforms at midnight on August 3.

My Hero Academia, commonly known as MHA, is a hugely popular comic series by Kōhei Horikoshi that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha) for 10 years.

With over 100 million copies in circulation worldwide, this hero action manga is set in a world where supernatural abilities known as "Quirks" are the norm. It tells the story of protagonist Izuku Midoriya, commonly known as "Deku," who grows alongside his peers at the prestigious hero-training institution, U.A. High School, in order to become a "Hero" who protects society and stands up against "Villains"—criminals who misuse Quirks. The TV anime series based on the manga also reached the finale of its FINAL SEASON last December, concluding the series with a total of 8 seasons and 170 episodes.

"I am a hero too" is a special one-shot short story drawn by original author Horikoshi for inclusion in the original fan book My Hero Academia Ultra age, released in December 2024.
