Catchy "Otetsuki" Melody is Addictive! Release of The Elusive Samurai Insert Song MV Sparks Buzz with Fans Saying "A Character Song for a Historical Anime in the Reiwa Era"

On the official X account for the TV anime The Elusive Samurai, a special anime MV for "Imasugu OTETSUKI☆" was released. The full-throttle character song melody and the chorus lyrics featuring the word "otetsuki" have been generating a lot of buzz.

The post announced the release of the MV for the track, which serves as the insert song for Episode 14, alongside a link to YouTube. It was introduced as a song sung by Ayako (VA: Sayumi Suzushiro), one of the retainers of the protagonist Tokiyuki Hōjō (VA: Asaki Yuikawa), and was shared with hashtags like "#TheElusiveSamurai" and "#Nigewaka".

In the released video, viewers can see heartwarming scenes like Ayako showing a relaxed smile with a waterfront behind her, and her crossing two wooden swords while playfully patting Tokiyuki's head. The footage also depicts her striking a pose with a small hand drum (kotsuzumi) and drumsticks in hand amid fluttering cherry blossom petals and musical note motifs, creating a visual that brings out all the charm of her in traditional Japanese attire.

The anime The Elusive Samurai is a historical spectacle set in the era following the fall of the Kamakura shogunate. It depicts Tokiyuki, whose clan was destroyed, as he attempts to make a comeback alongside Yorishige Suwa, a Shinto priest of Shinano Province, and others by using "fleeing and hiding" as his greatest weapon. While based on historical facts, it unfolds with unpredictable battles fought by a cast of highly unique characters.
