The Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime series is based on the popular MF Bunko J novels (original work by Tappei Nagatsuki, illustrations by Shinichirō Ōtsuka). It is a dark fantasy in which Subaru, who suddenly finds himself lost in another world, confronts a harsh fate using Return by Death, a power that rewinds time when he dies. 4th Season: The Loss Arc aired from April to June 2026, and its continuation, The Recapture Arc, opened in August of the same year.
Episode 78, "The Story from Here On" (Synopsis)
He was entrusted, believed in, forgiven, and wished for. Having taken in the feelings of Emilia and the others and resolved to fight as "Subaru Natsuki," Subaru wakes from a Return by Death and immediately admits that he has lost his memories. He will take back Rem and his own memories, and bring everyone home safely. Securing Ram's cooperation with that declaration, Subaru heads for the spiral staircase inside the tower. That place was none other than the murder scene where he had twice been pushed from behind and fallen to his death.
