"ONE PIECE" New Movies to Release in 2027 & 2029! Monochrome Teaser Triggers Hype: "Is This a God Valley Incident Movie?!" "Shaping Up to Be the Best One Yet"

Two new feature films for the anime series "ONE PIECE" have officially been announced. The first installment, "ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY," is set to release in Japan in the summer of 2027. The second installment, "ONE PIECE FILM BAAD," will premiere in 2029. Teases that fan-favorite, highly anticipated lore will be adapted onto the big screen have sparked massive excitement across social media.

Information on both projects was unveiled in a super teaser trailer screened right after the Day 2 main stage event at "ONE PIECE DAY," held at Makuhari Messe on August 22 and 23. Handwritten title artwork by original creator Eiichiro Oda was also revealed alongside the announcement.

The "ONE PIECE" anime is an animated series based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda. It chronicles the epic journey of Monkey D. Luffy (voiced by Mayumi Tanaka), a young pirate aiming to become the King of the Pirates, and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates. The original manga is a global hit, expanding into a massive franchise that includes a long-running TV anime, anime films, a live-action series, and video games. Among the franchise's film releases, 2022's "ONE PIECE FILM RED" became a mega-blockbuster, drawing 14.74 million theatergoers and grossing 20.33 billion yen including its encore theatrical run.
