"Sasaki and Peeps" Season 2 Premieres October 7! Tasuku Hatanaka, Yu Sasahara, and Mutsumi Tamura Join the Cast

It has been announced that Season 2 of the TV anime "Sasaki and Peeps" will begin broadcasting on October 7 at 11:00 PM on TOKYO MX, BS NTV, and AT-X. Episode 1 will be broadcast as a 1-hour special.

The newly released main PV and second key visual depict Sasaki and his friends' daily lives, along with a premonition of new battles. It was also announced that Mutsumi Tamura will join the cast as Abaddon, a demon who makes the Neighbor his apostle; Tasuku Hatanaka as Himegami-kun, a boy who is the apostle of the angel Eriel; and Yu Sasahara as Eriel, an angel who fights bravely despite her weakness. The main PV also features scenes of Himegami-kun and Eriel confronting Sasaki.

Furthermore, the opening theme has been decided as "Unbroken" by the 5-member dance and vocal group MADKID, and a snippet of the song is revealed in the PV. LIN, who wrote the lyrics, shared the following comment: "What are Sasaki and Peeps thinking, and what choices will they make...? I wrote the lyrics hoping to express their inner thoughts and emotional fluctuations."

Also, as a promotional event, an oversized Peeps display and an advertisement featuring the second key visual are being exhibited at the 1st-floor entrance plaza of the Animate Ikebukuro Main Store North Building from September 11 to September 17.

This work is based on a light novel series that has surpassed 1 million copies in circulation. It is a fantasy story that begins when Sasaki, an unremarkable middle-aged corporate drone, buys a Java sparrow at a pet shop, only to discover it is a renowned sage (Peeps) reincarnated from another world. The story follows Sasaki as he gains magical powers while traveling between the other world and Japan, getting entangled in battles between superpowered individuals and the government's Supernatural Phenomena Countermeasures Bureau in modern-day Japan.
