Official Trailer with Theme Song Released for New Anime "Firefly Wedding"! OP Theme Announced as iri's Original Song "Period"

The official trailer and opening theme song details for the TV anime "Firefly Wedding" have been unveiled.

The newly released trailer begins with the fateful encounter of two people whose paths were never meant to cross: Satoko Kirigaya (VA: Lynn), an earl's daughter striving to live fully despite being diagnosed with a short life expectancy, and Shinpei Goto (VA: Koki Uchiyama), a legendary assassin hired to kill her. The footage showcases Shinpei's unhinged affection through lines such as, "My love might be a bit heavy, but I'll make you happy," and "If I were the last man on Earth, you'd have no choice but to marry me, right?" along with turbulent developments involving the two protagonists, building high anticipation for where this story of mystery and obsessive love will lead.

Additionally, the trailer features "Period," an original song written by iri that was selected as the series' opening theme. Marking her first-ever anime tie-in, iri commented on the music creation: "I was deeply moved by Satoko's determination to stand on her own two feet and push straight forward. It also came at a milestone moment for me personally, so I completed this track while overlapping my current feelings with hers."

Regarding the song, original manga creator Tachibana also offered high praise, commenting: "Thank you so much for delivering such a breathtaking, soul-stirring song that stays so deeply aligned with the world of the story."

The anime is scheduled to start broadcasting on October 9, airing every Friday at 23:30 on Fuji TV's "noitaminA" block. Furthermore, immediately following the TV broadcast at 24:00, the latest episode will be available for free streaming for a limited time on ABEMA, TVer, and Niconico Video.
